Conversation memory

The conversation ends. The context does not.

Conversation memory keeps the substance of calls available across time instead of leaving each one as an isolated summary. With Nod, every captured conversation contributes decisions, commitments, open questions, and searchable transcript context. You can ask what a customer requested across several calls, then open the source session to check the answer before using it.

Product evidence
Ask Nod searches across captured sessions and returns the sessions behind an answer, while folders can narrow the source set to a client, project, or topic.
Limits
Only conversations the user deliberately captures are remembered. Nod cannot recover a call that was never captured and does not replace source verification.
Method
This page is based on reproducible workflows in the current Nod macOS product and the public security, pricing, and product documentation linked below. It makes no aggregate usage or outcome claim.

Build continuity one session at a time

Capture the conversations that belong together, place them in a folder, and ask the folder a question in plain language. A customer folder might answer which security questions came up, which dates were promised, and where the buyer objected to price—without mixing in a different account's calls.

  • Meetings and calls captured from the Mac's own audio
  • Voice notes between calls through Notepad
  • Structured summaries plus the source transcript
  • Folder-scoped questions for one client, project, or topic

Check the answer before acting

Memory is useful only when it can show its work. Ask Nod names the sessions behind an answer so you can open the relevant call and verify the wording. That matters when a generated synthesis collapses two similar requests, misses a qualification, or assigns a commitment to the wrong person.

What it cannot remember

Nod only knows conversations and context you deliberately captured. It cannot reconstruct a call that was never recorded, a decision made only in a private document, or a project change that happened later. Combine conversation memory with the current calendar, documents, and system of record when preparing a consequential answer.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is conversation memory?

Conversation memory is a searchable record that connects decisions, commitments, questions, and transcript evidence across more than one captured conversation.

  • Can I limit a question to one customer or project?

Yes. Pro users can use folder-scoped Ask so the answer comes from the selected group of sessions rather than the whole history.

  • Can conversation memory be wrong?

Yes. Generated summaries and answers can miss or simplify context, so consequential details should be checked against the cited source transcript.
