No bot in your user interviews

A recorder joining the call changes the interview. People perform, hedge, and give you the answer they think is safe — which is the opposite of what research is for. Nod isn't in the room. Nod captures the audio your Mac is already playing, through native macOS APIs, so nothing dials into the call and nothing shows up in the participant list. Each segment goes through a European proxy to a hosted transcription service under Zero Data Retention, and is discarded the second the text comes back. No audio is stored at either end.   • Does a bot join my user interviews?
    No. Nod captures your Mac's system audio instead of dialling in, so the participant sees a normal one-to-one call. No bot doesn't mean no consent. Recording law varies by country and by state, and some of it asks everyone on the call to agree — so tell people you're taking notes. See recording consent laws.
  • Can it synthesize across several interviews?
    Yes. Every interview lands in one searchable memory, so you can ask across all of them at once — what people struggled with, who asked for the same feature — and Nod shows the notes each part of the answer came from.
  • Does it keep the reason behind a decision, not just the decision?
