Cluely describes itself as undetectable AI for meetings: listening live, staying invisible during screen sharing, and giving you answers in the moment. That is a coherent product with a clear audience.
Nod is not built for the moment. It is built so that a promise made in March is still answerable in September, across every conversation at once and with the session cited.

The disclosure question is the real fork
Start with what we share: Nod also keeps its panel out of screen shares and recordings by default, and it puts no bot in the participant list. So on the mechanics, the two overlap more than the marketing suggests. What differs is what the capability is for. Ours exists so your own memory — past calls, open commitments — is not accidentally projected onto a meeting-room wall, and it is a toggle you can turn on to present with.
Where we are direct is on what none of that does: it removes the banner, not your obligation. Recording law varies by country and by state, some of it requires everyone on the call to agree, and Nod shows a reminder before your first recording for exactly that reason. See recording consent laws.
If being undetectable is the reason you are shopping, Nod is the wrong tool and we would rather say so here than after you have paid.
Where Nod is the better answer
When the value compounds. Nod is worth more in month six than in week one, because every captured conversation widens what it can answer.
When you want the record to be checkable. Answers name the sessions they came from, so you can open the source before repeating a claim to a customer.
When storage matters: no audio kept, transcripts encrypted at rest in the EU, and no model trained on your material.

Does Nod stay out of my screen shares?
Yes, by default. Nod's panel is excluded from screen shares and recordings unless you turn it on, under a setting called "Show Nod when you share your screen". The reason we build it that way is the reverse of a concealment pitch: what is on that panel is your own memory — past calls, open commitments, private notes — and you should not broadcast it to a room by accident. You can switch it on deliberately when you want to present with Nod visible.
Can Nod help me live, during the call?
Yes, on Pro: a floating panel over the meeting can catch you up on what you missed or pull the key points. It is there so you can rejoin a conversation you drifted out of, not so you can conceal that a tool is running.
Which is more private?
Compare the specifics rather than the adjectives. Nod's are: audio never stored, transcripts and summaries encrypted at rest in the EU, no training by us or our subprocessors, and deletion from inside the app. Check Cluely's current policy for theirs.
